THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS ARE IN BLOOM!

Door County is the perfect place for growing cherry trees. With 2,500 acres of orchards, Door County sees thousands of visitors every year to witness the spring blossoms.

Did you know, dandelions are important to the blooming process?  Why, because dandelions are a lure for bees.  By the time the blossoms come out, the dandelions are still here, and the cherry blossoms have a lot more nectar to them.  The bees are attracted to the dandelions, then they go into the trees and help with pollination.  It takes about 60 days for the cherries to grow and ripen for picking.
