Sunday is Mother’s Day and did you know Mother’s Day started in 1908 by Anna Jarvis? She originally started her campaign to recognize the holiday in 1905 to honor her mother the year she died. Her mother had always expressed a desire for such a holiday. In 1908, Anna held a memorial for her mother at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Anna wanted this day to be shared by all mothers. The good news, in 1914 Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother’s Day be held on the second Sunday in May as a national holiday to honor mothers. The rest is history.
Sunday is the day to celebrate all moms. Our best to all of you! We hope to see you this season.
