FUN IN FEBRUARY . . . DOOR COUNTY

There are so many things to do in February.  It’s well worth a visit during the winter season.

FISH CREEK WINTER FESTIVAL – celebrating its 33rd year!  A long standing tradition featuring live music, games, food, fireworks display and the “Fruit Loop Fun Run on February 2.

PENINSULA STATE PARK CANDLELIGHT SKI/HIKE –  a one mile loop through the forest filled with hundreds of candles lining the trail.  Follow the path and then enjoy a bonfire with refreshments in a warm shelter after your walk.  Make sure you have your state park admission sticker which is required.  Pets need to stay home, sorry.

 February 1 – 5:30-8:00 pm

 

DOOR COUNTY POND HOCKEY TOURNAMENT – takes place on Kangaroo Lake in Baileys Harbor, 60 teams competing in nine divisions.

DOOR COUNTY ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT – hosted by Waterfront Mary’s in Sturgeon Bay with over $1,500 in prizes.  There are four categories which include:  Whitefish, Northern, Perch and Walleye.

February 8 – 8:00 am – 7:00 pm 

February 9 – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

 

FIRE AND ICE FESTIVAL – visit downtown Sturgeon Bay to watch snow and ice carvers turn blocks of snow and ice into art.

February 15 @ 9:00 am

DOOR COUNTY SHORT FILM FESTIVAL –  are you a filmmaker or someone who enjoys films this is your chance to watch and experience short films from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.  

February 14 and 15 at the Sister Bay Village Hall
