FIRE AND ICE WEEKEND

The annual Fire & Ice weekend will kick off Feb. 12 in Sturgeon Bay with the Candlelight Ski & Snowshoe at Crossroads at Big Creek, 6-8 pm.

On Feb. 13, join or watch the 16th annual Fire & Ice ice-carving competition in downtown Sturgeon Bay. Between 9 am and 2 pm, individual carvers and carving teams will turn 300-pound ice blocks into sculptures. They’ll also compete for the People’s Choice Award and cash prizes. There is no cost to participate, and carving experience is not necessary. A judging panel will start making determinations after 2 pm.  A community snowman build will also begin at Martin Park, 9 am, weather permitting.
