FARMERS MARKETS ARE BACK!

The season opens May 7, which means summer is on its way!

I always wondered about the history of farm markets.  Did you know they date back to Egypt over 5,000 years ago?  Farmers along the Nile came together to sell their fresh produce.  The first farmers market in the US started in Boston in 1634.  Thereafter many markets throughout the country started.  In Door County, you’ll find a market open somewhere in the county except on Monday and Thursdays.

Here’s the lineup:

Ellison Bay Every other Friday, 4-8 pm, behind Mink River Basin, 12010 Hwy 42 – Opens May 7
