Though I have yet to see swans in Door County, they have been photographed and many other people have seen them. Nellie was driving through Ephraim recently and saw quite a few in the harbor. She jumped out of her car and snapped this photo…

Jim P., a guest of Egg Harbor Lodge was telling me a couple of years ago about the white pelicans he had seen during his visit to Door County. I was sceptical, but a day later he came into the office to prove it to me. I grabbed my binoculars and we went out to the back deck. Sure enough, white pelicans flying high over the harbor. When I researched it I found an article Roy Lukes (our Door County Naturalist) had written back in 2001.

Door County is filled with so many treasures, birds just being a small, but beautiful part.
