I have just done the coolest thing I have done in a really long time… we flew in a small plane over Door County! Grizzly Scenic Air Tours were nice enough to take Nellie and I on an hour tour of the county. The tour begins at the Ephraim Airport and they offer different tours and time increments. We saw shipwrecks, went over Cana Island, we could see all the way to Michigan and flew up and down both Door County coastlines. It was just amazing. Our pilot, Dave Burke aka “Grizz-1” was funny and confident and knew more about the county and its treasures than even I do. It wasn’t scary at all. He flew low enough that we could really see where we were and could recognize Egg Harbor Lodge and even our house. We flew over Chambers Island and Peninsula State Park. The colors are just beautiful but from the air we could see that the colors actually haven’t peaked just yet. Check out the video…
This is my newest item on my Door County must do list. You haven’t experienced the real Door County unless you have seen it by air. I just wish it hadn’t taken me so long. Give them a call at 920.493.2729 you will be glad you did!
